This morning the Ministers publicly met the Ngatiwhakaue in the carved house, Tama te Kapua, and tried to explain the troubles that exist, warning thorn not to be biassed by interested Europeans, and stating that the Government were only defeated as regards the Rotorna leases in a minor Court, but shortly the case would be tried in the Supieme Court, when doubtless the matter would take another turn. The meeting adjourned till Monday, in order to give the tiibe time to concentrate their grievances, and bring them before the government through one spokesman. A large body of Europeans and natives afterwards met in Kellys Hotel, Captain Morris (M.H.R. for the district; being present. Numerous important points were touched on, and it was finally arranged to form a deputation to interview the Ministers as soon as possible.
