THE STEAMER WAIHORA ASHORE. [BY TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Bluff, Friday Night.
The Waihora, in steaming: out of the harbour, bound for Melbourne, at 3 o'clock, was prevented by the action of the floodtide on the bow from steering, .and turned round the lightship, and before they could stop fccr she took ground on Jervois Point, and lfcted considerably. On going full spee^r astern her bow canted up the harfour, and she now lies between Jervois Point and the red buoy, close to the latter. She is fast at the present, the engines going astern, and as tide is still flood she may come off all right. The circumstances are similar to when the llotomahana grounded here, except that it is on the other side of the channel, and tide is flood.
