SERIOUS ACC IDE NT AT CAMBRIDGE.
An old man named Walter Mmphy, employed on the fiirm of Mr Gillett, on the Hamilton load, met with a veiy serious accident when leturning home fioni Cambridge on Tuesday last. It appe irs he was slightly the woi»e of liqtior, and not being able to maintain his seat, fell out of the saddle. His foot had become entangled in the stirrup iron, and the hoi-.e continuing at a busk pace, the unfoitunate old man Was changed for some considerable distance along the road. When picked up it was found he had sustained a se^eie fractuie of the thigh. Dr. Waddmgton attended the patient, and has recommended bib removal to the Auckland hospital, the case being a seiious one, and Mr Murphy being almost void of means.
