Jas. Farkell v. J. W. Thompson*. — Debt, £4 3-> Id. Mr Gre&ham for plaintiff, i Plaintiff, being sworn, proved the debt. Judgment for full amount, with costs, £1 11s tid. W. Qualtroughv. Ogle,— Judgment debt, £(> \U (kl. Mr Gresham for plaintiff. Plaintiff, being sworn, deposed th.it bince receiving judgment in July last for the amount it had not been paid. He now sought to compel payment. Charles Clendon Empson, being sworn, deposed that within the last two months he had paid defendant £18 for labour. Defendant, on oath, deposed that since July last he had received £00, besides the £18 received from Mr Empson. He stated that the mo.st of the money he received was paid away for labour, leaving barely sufficient to support himself. He offered £1 per month. Ordered to pay £2 per month till the whole amount, with costs, £2 IDs, be paid. Pailing this, the whole amount to become due and payable, or, in default, one month's imprisonment. The first payment to be made by the 24th inst. Thomas (jfresham v. Wm. Thompson. — Debt, solicitor's fees, £2 3s 4d. Mr Dyer for plaintiff, and Mr Hay for defendant. This case arose out of the sale of some allotments for rates by the Karioi Highway Board. Plaintiff drew up the conveyances for defendant, who purchased an allotment. Owing the name of the highway district being inserted instead of the name of the parish in the deed, the deed was not registered, and defendant declined to pay till completed. Plaintiff proved that one deed so drawn had been registered. Non-suited, with costs, £4 18s Gd. Several other cases were settled out of court.
