TO THE r-OITOH. , g IB) — I think the public have read quite enough of " John Clement Cotton" of late. No doubt our Wesleyan friends feel a little bifc sore at being " had" over that public recantation business, when John was to abjure the " Scarlet Lady" and Cotton to John Wesley. But they must try and bear their disappointment philosophically. Cotton was a stranger, and " he" took them in. That's what's the matter. Thanseat.

TO THE EDITOR. Sib,— l owe an apology to Messrs Sladc and Dukes for doubting for one moment their kindness of heart. My object has been fully gained in eliciting so full and satisfactory a denial of the gross mis-statement that led me to notice the unfortunate affair. As to your correspondent " One who Knows," he has evidently rubbed shoulders with and knows more of Mr Cotton than I should care to own to if he is all " One who Knows " says he is. — I am, &c, Chakity.
