THE SURVEY OF THE KING COUNTRY.
[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Te Awamutu, Friday. Onk of the survey pai ties .arrived at Kihikihi on Thursday. They will begin at the ejwt end of the "southern boundary of the king country near Taupo, and work westward. Altogether there will bo three parties; one begins at Paranimhi, and works eastwnid to meet another which will stait about midway on the boundary, and work we-,twaid, the fhst party working to the point at which the latter will commenc e. Mr Cussen has elected tiig stations on all the eminences along the Puniu. He left yesterday for Otorohanga. From Hautiuii, near Kawhia, he will woik back towards Whai epapa. He expect-, to have the tn.ingulatiou of the country tins side of Mokau completed in about four months. It is rumoured in Kihikihi that a paity of natives has been sent to stop the s\i*\ey paity on their way towards^ the southern boundaiy, and that certain Europeans are the instigators of the movement, iiewi's statement that they were at the bottom of the opposition offeied by Ngatihaua turns out to be collect, and yet those people express admiration for Mr Bryces policy, and are profuse in their praise of ! him ! .
