Raglan Annual Sports.
From some cause or other our annual sports were not so well attended as usual. There were, however, about one hundred and fifty pei&ons on the giound, who seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. A good deal of money had been subscribed towards the prize fund, and consequently the prizes were larger than in formei years. The various events were well contested, and no unpleasantness of any soit occuned to mar the day's enjoyment. Mr Chas. Gilmour, who appealed to be indefatigable in his exertions to bring matters to a successful issue, must have felt much satisfied with th<? grand result. There was a boat race held during the day. Three boats were entered-for it. The distance was four miles, and the first prize of £2 was won by Mr S. Wilson in the Jam. I append a list of the other events :—: — lOOvns.
