CRICKET. Cambridge v. Hamilton.

The above match was played on Sydney Square, Hamilton, on Saturday, and resulted in a, draw in favour of the Cambridge team on the fiist innings. The Cambridge team played with only nine men, and the Hamilton team batted in their first innings with only ten. The Cambridge team was driven down in a drag, reached Hamilton shortly after halt-past eleven, and play was commenced at 12 o'clock. The Hamilton team went to the wickets first, and, principally owing to the bowling of H. Wilson, were disposed of for 70 runs. The Cambridge men then went in about halfpast one, and when the teams adjourned at 2 o'clock for luncheon, there was one man out for abont 30 runs. After lunch Arnoll and Stubbing being now together began to get runs pretty freely, and it looked very bad for {Tamilton, when- .Stubbing was disposed of for the nice little total of 28. Arnoll, who still continued batting steadily for some time, was at last got rid of by his hitting,, his ,o\i:n .wicket, vith. ,the neat, total of 26, af&xed tq >his tnaine. < Af&r> this > the .HttiuiUop, captain changed, his j

tactics, and Forest was put on to bowl at tlie south end of the gionnd, and it was chiefly owing to this bowler that the remainder of the Cambridge men were so easily disposed of, the total of the whole Cambridge team being 80. There not bumg time to finish the second innings, Cambridge were declared the victors in the first innings by 15 runs. The fielding of Hamilton showed an improvement, while that of Cambridge was very loose. Tae following are the scores :—
