The building which is to ha\ c two rooms will accomodato 120 chikhen. l |A i\e acres of Government land near the cemetciylmve 1 won f>et apart foi the .school by the Waste Land-. Bo.ud. The plans have been appioved of and tenders will be called foi immediately. The .street improvements arc being pushed on. Lyon htieet is being cut down, footpath made, and when finished the whole will bo gravelled. These attentions we sadly needed, for in the present .state the streets weie almost impassible after lain. The sea.son has been very bad for fruit tiees, especially peaches. This place, once famed foi the quantity of peachesgi own, will have HC.iicely.uiy this year, owing to the tiees being badly blighted. Other disti icts as far as 1 can learn are ju.st as bad in thi.s lespect. The settlers heie should bestir themselves and ha\e a cheese factory elected befoienext season. Theie is plenty of loom for one heie without clashing with that at Te Awamutu.— (Own Correspondent. )
