THE CAMBRIDGE DOMAIN LEASEHOLDERS.

It will be remembered that home few weeks ago a large number of the leaseholders of the Canibiidge Domain lands petitioned the board for a 50 per cant, reduction in their respective rentb. They pointed out that the lentalt, which they were called upon to pay in accoi dance with the terms of their lease were gieatly out of piopoition to the benefits which they received from their holdings and that at the auction sale when the vauous allotments were disposed of they were carried on by the brisk competition then expeiienced to bid much higher than they would otherwise have done had the allotments been put up to tender. The board having no power to deal with the petition, it was forwarded to the Government with a recommendation fiom the boai din favour of the prayer of the petitioners being acceded to.
