WHEELS WITHIN WHEELS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sill, — I think that "Kick," and those who side with him, aie making much ado about nothing in the matter of the Hood-street gravel question. Bacre bleu ! Cannot an honest man make a mistake, which the party against whom "Kick "levels his .scurrility himself is willing to admit he has done, without having the vilest motives imputed to his act. Who amongst us is free from blame in an official capacity ? And, let the worst that can be said of the above matter be true, who i-, m a position to cast stones ? It is strange that the " little game," as it is now called, should have been allowed to go on until nearly election time, and those who knew all about it, and aie so wise now, are quite as much to blame if they did not stop it at once. As to the matter of telling the borough foreman to .sign the voucher, even though he might not be personally aware of the accuracy of the account, is not this a tiling done every day ? and why mxke .such a fuss about it now? Pah! The thing stinks of election, and I shall say no mure. — I am, &c, Fair Plat. East Hamilton, Oct. 17, 1883.
