THE CAMBRIDGE RAILWAY.
This matter was brought forwaid at the meeting of the Cambridge Town Board on Monday evening last, and the unnecessary delay of the Government in proceeding with the work warmly adverted to. After some discussion, it wa<? unanimously agieed "That the hon. the Minister for Public Works having failed to fulfil his piomise to .T. B. Whyte, Esq., M.H.R. in reply to telegiams of 2nd and li)th August, re the completion of Cambridge railway, tins board have again to remind him that two months have expired since that promise was made to the effect that tenders would be called for the completion of the lailway without fiuther delay, and respectfully request that the promise made be immediately complied with, as the non-completion of the line is most injurious to the interest and progie&s of the distuct." The following leply has been received f lorn Mr Benzoni, Uiider-Secretary Public Works :—" Re your telegram of yesterday, Minister directs* me to infoim you that iiihtiuctions were given some time siuce to piepaie plans, etc. They aie now ready, and advertisements inviting tenders leave by first mail. "
