HORSE PARADE AT OHAUPO.
The parade of thoroughbred and draught entire horses, held at the invitation of Mr J. S. BucklandatOhaupo, on Tuebday, was very successful. There were fourteen horses on the ground, and great interest was taken in the parade by the large number of farmers and others who attended Mr Buckland's sale. The following is a list of the horses :— Thoroughbreds : Mr Allwill's Feve, Mr Bond's Ariel, the Auckland Stud Co.'s Cap-a-pie, Mr Linnner's King Quail, and Mr It. Lamb\ Hand wick. Draught sires : Mr Win, Bond's Nugget, the Stud Co.'s Elgin, Mr R. Lamb's Sir Colin, Mr Lawsons Lowden Tarn. Mr J. Hill'h Prince Charlie, the Waikato Land Association's Lothair, Mr R. N. Buttles Ben Lomond, and Mr J. Allwill's Bonnie Prince, lloadstei :Mr J. Hill's Merrylegi. All the hor&ea were brought out vi good form, gi\ ing evidence of gieat care on the part of their owners, With such first-class sires in the district, the breed of horses ought to show a great improvement. Several old Waikato favourites were conspicuous by their absence, among which I 1I 1 ancy and President will be most readily called to mind. We trust these parades will develop into an annual institution.
