Some of the rockets travelled for miles, but in the majority of cases little or no damage was done by them. It is believed that the 1 explosion waa accidental. London, September 25. Telegiams which have been received from Zanzibar, report that fighting has taken place between the Hovas and French troops in Madagascar. The former made an attack in force oa the position occupied by the French on the west (sic) coast of the island, and after stubborn fighting, lasting several hourg, the French were driven from their position with considerable loss. \ *
