THE CAMBRIDGE POUND.
1O THE EIHTOK. Siu, — Some months ago I lost eight yearling and two two-year-old cattle. I advertised the lo&s in your paper, and have | looked carefully through your columns to sec if they were ad voitihed as found, or if by chance they should be impounded. Today, being in Mr Knox's. .store, I happened to pick up a paper, dated September oth, called the Waikato Gazette, and published in Cambridge, which up till this tune I did not even know was in existence, and there I saw an impounding notice of eight of the missing cattle. I cannot help expressing myself strongly that impounding notices | .should coitainly appear in the paper with the greatest cii dilation in the district, to have parties from sustaining very heavy losses; mine I estimate at least at £20, as the cattle were all got by pedigree bulls, and hand fed. lam sine people like myself would be glad to pay for adveitisemonts in both papers, rather than mn tin* ribk of making so heavy a loss. I hope foi the futuio, and in the inteients of cattle owneis, the Cambridge Town Boaid will take the hint, and instruct the poundkeeper to advertise in both papers. — I am, Isaac CoarES. Hamilton, September 24th.
