Civil Cases. T. G. S ijiuks v. H. G. Gwakmk. Action for lecovevy of damages caused by defendant's incompetency. After hearing the evidence of plaintiff and .several witnesses his Honour gave judgment for £18 ss, with costs £14 18.-. B. and J. Coleman v. R. H. Ransome. Claim £20 11s 6d, amount of dishonoured pvomisory note. Mr O'Neill for plaintiffs, <iiid Mr Hay for defendant. Prom the evidence it appeared that the promisory note had been drawn in favour of one A. "YV. Ellis, and befoi c it became due defendant had paid the amount to Ellis, but had neglected to secure the bill, which in the meantime had been made over to the plaintiffs by Ellib. Judgment wab given for plaintiffs, with co.sts £!) 4s (id. Thomas Mooro v. Clifford and Evans. Claim £03 for wrongful conversion of horses and cattle. Mr Hay for plaintiff, and Mi O'Neill for defendants. I'rom the evidence of the plaintiff it appeared that he was emD 1D 1 fed to cart for defendants, and that they found him with horses, &c, the price of which was to be worked out. Defendants, however, subsequently seized the horses and converted them to thoir own u^e. Owing to an error in the date of the summons the case was adjourned till next court day. The court then rose.
