WELLINGTON", Last Night. The Secretary of the Marine Department has received information from the harbourmaster at Westport that the erection of a flagstaff and beacon on the •South Spit at that port is completed, and will be used for general signalling purposes on and after to-morrow, the 20th (September. The lion. Messrs Rolleston and Oliver returned from the South this afternoon. It is understood that the final decision as to which Ministers will represent New Zealand at the Annexation Conference in Sydney will be made this week.
DUNEDIN, Last Night. A lad, ten years old, son of Chandler, the lighthouse-keeper at Cape Saumlers, fell over the cliffs, a depth of 100 feet, but the only injuiy he sustained was breaking one leg.
COROMANDEL, Last Night. At the Resident Magistrate's Court, Mrs Waterman, of the Masonic Hotel, was sued by Mr Gium for£2o, for damages done by Mrs Waterman's m.onkey to the infant child of plaintiff. Judgment was given for amount claimed.
