NGARUAWAHIA SCHOOL CONCERT.

The concei t given by the school children, assisted by Mr Bell's String Band, came oft in the school-room, Ngaruawalna, on Tuesday evening, and was a very great success. There was a laige attendance, and the vocal efforts of the children were thoroughly appreciated. Many of the little people give promise of devolofiiug into really capable singers in a few years. The trio and chorus, "Kiss Me Mothei," was exceptionally good, while the solo and chorus by Miss Butcher and the other children, " Little Sister's Gone to Sleep, >% and the .solo, " Pietty JJMowei s, " by Miss Lavnu Salmon, were most charmingly given, and leceived an encore. Altogether the children's paifc of the piogramnie gave the fullest satisfaction. The Stung Band played sevcial pieces in their well known stylo, and were loudly applauded. Mr W. Kelly contnbuted a violin solo, but Mi Napper was unable to give his promised solo on the flute owing to an injury to one of hk fingei^. However, he kindly substituted a comic .song, which was heaitily onjoyed, and unanimously eucoiod. After the singing of the National Anthem, the roomed was cleaied for a dance.
