HAWERA, Last Night.
A narrow escape from a fatal accident occiued on a survey pirfcy yesteiday. Mr Alfred Atkinson (son of the Colonial rieasurci) was iv charge of a party iv the bush, when a dead limb fell from a tiee, knockiug off Atkinson's hat, and stunning and bruising a man named Downey, and breaking the thigh of a man named Thos. Harrison.
