At half-past 1 o'clock .this afternoon a man named Randolph Krippner, employed by Mr Gillman, draper, Upper Symonds-street, called at the police station and reported that a customer, after purchasing a. quantity of goods, had paid for them with a forged and valueless cheque, The paper was signed "E. McMuley." Detective Hughes ran his man down in the next twenty minutes on his way to pawn the goods, which he had in his possession. His name is Cornelius Manley, and the amount of the cheque is JE6 9s.
