The Markets. Auckland, Last Night. Weekly market price list :— Butter and eggs remain at last weeks' quotations. Eggs are rather scarce, and have an upward tendency. Southern flour has declined slightly during the week, and may be quoted from £11 los to £12 per ton. The gum market is still very quiet, with prices the same as last week. There are several 1 eductions in timber, second-class having fallen 6d per 100 ft.
Charge of Adulteration, John Gallagher, of the Globe Hotel, and Frederick Russell, of the Scotia, were charged at the Police Court to-day with adulterating grog with water. The evidence shewed that the rum sold was half water. Several technical objections were taken, and judgment was reserved.
Sly Grog-selling. Am}' Swanaborongh, tolucconisb, was fined teu pounds for selling grog without a license.
