PIAKO COUNTY COUNTY. (Continued from last issue).
Proposed Hospital for Te Aroha.— A letter was received from the secretary of the Te Aroha Accident Relief Fund, conveying a resolution passed by the committee asking the council to communicate with a number of the members for the Auckland Province, asking them to have a suiTKof money placed on the estimates for the establishment of a hospital at Te Aroha. The letter suggested that the late residence of Mr Carr be the building fixed upon for the object suggested. — Cr. Firth agreed with the proposal, and on a motion proposed by him, it was agreed that the clerk should write to the members of the House named in the proposal, drawing their attention to the desirability of a hospital at Te Aroha, and asking that a sum of £1000 be placed on the Estimates for the purpose named. A Complaint from Tje Aroha. — Mr G. S. O'Halloran asked the council to fix the level of Church-street, Te Aroha. Contractors were at the present time excavating for gravel in front of his property ' for 'county works, and he (Mr O'Halloran) would hold thecouncilrespohsible for any damage done, to his property. — It was finally agreed, on the motion of Cr\ Qhepmell, that it was not in the opinion of the council expedient to fix the levels of Te Aroha township at present, and ih&t Mr O'Halloran, be informed the council knew nothing on the matter, and had riot aUtnorised 1 any -.person to take -gravel^ffom'^hisVproperty/ ;' J Matamata-^Oxfobd; .'JRoad.— A' letter iwas -re = ceifeli*troYn>iMr t Bailey, "; manager J&udilani^ i condition
