CAMBRIDGE BAPTIST SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.

An entertainment by way of celebrating the first anniversary of the above Sunday School was given in the Tabernacle, Cambridge, on Tuesday evening last. There was a fairly good attendance, and the Bey. Mr Fairbrother occupied the chair. The evening was opened by the choir singing the song " Gospel Bells." After prayer the chairman delivered an address, referring at some length to the object of the entertainment. A recitation, entitled "Church Builders," by Master Mynott, and a recitation entitled " Cheer for the Willing Teacher," by Miss Kate Fitzgerald, followed. Hymn 274, "Bringing in the Sheaves," was then rendered by the teachers. The following was the remainder of the programme :—: — Recitation, "The Little Birds," Misa Minnie Rees ; recitation. " The Road to Heaven," by Master Thos. Mynott; duet, " Jesus only," Miss Alice and Miss Sarah John 3 ; recitation, " A New Heart," Miss Carrie Mynott ; reading, " Sorrow on the Sea," Miss lliley ; hymn 300, " Must I go Empty Ha-uled," teachers ; dialogue, Miss Alice Johns and Miss Morris; recitation, "Not one to spare," Misa Mynott; hymn by the children ; recitation, " Steer straight for me,*' Miss Alice Johns ; recitation, " Our anniversary day," Miss Rees ; Hymn 121, " The gleaners," teachers ; recitation, " Grandpapa." Percy Rees ; closing hymn. " All hail the power of Jesus' name," company. The various items in the programme were admirably rendered, and afforded excellent cntsrtain men tto all present. The Chairman, in bringing the evening to a close, said, as they had now put their hands to the plough, their motto would have to be forward, and not backward. All wore called upon to stand true to their colours, and always keep in mind the good motto referred to. Ho would call upon them to remember that the truly noble and great and wise "wait not for manhood, but think now of little deeds of kindness and little acts of love, and become gieat by doing thorn." The proceedings, which were most enjoyable throughout, were closed with prayer.
