Sydney, July 2S. During a terrific gale a bush fire ignited at Gerringonjr, near the south coast of this colony, and spread rapidly. Six homesteads were totally destroyed, and the villages in the neighbourhood of the baah were only saved with great difficulty.

(Received July 30th, 1.5 p.m.) Syi>ney, Yesterday. Sailed, on Saturday afternoon, the s.s. Wakntipu, for Wellington. A sculling match took place on the Paramatta on Saturday between Edward Trickett and Beach, and resulted in a victory for the former.
