Pamb, July 28. Intelligence is to hand from Tonquin reporting that a sortie was made from Hanoi by the French garrion on the 19th inst. Fully a thousand Annamites were killed, and only eleven Frenchman lost their lives.

London, July 27.' Accounts to hand from the hop growing districts are less favourable, bright dry weather being required after the recent heavy rains. The report that a case of cholera had occurred at the docks has been ascertained to be without foundation.
