THE HA MIL TON BA ND.
TO THR EDITOR. Sin, — Would Mr Knox kindly tell an admiring public at what meeting of the inhabitants of Hamilton he was elected " trustee of the band- instruments.'*" I recollect a meeting over two years since when our late lamented fellow townsman, Mr 11. Gwynne, was elected srle trustee; with an ossisting committee composed of Messrs McLernon, Scott, and Knox. Since the demise of Mr Gwynne no trustee has been appointed, and how Mr Knox has arrogated to himself that position, and by what authority he has taken upon himself to call in the instruments remains to Lo explained. I would suggest that a public meeting be called immediately, and a frcsli trustee or trustees fleeted. If this is not done there is every possibility of the instruments passing out of the hands of the public of Hamilton. — I am, &c, P. Munro. Hamilton, July 25th, 1883.
