YESTERDAY. The House met nt 2.30. Replying to questions, Ministers promised to consider the possibility of establishing a parcel post system by the direct English steamer j they would not do anything towards repealing the Triennial Parliaments Bill this session ; to join the Postal Union would inA'olve the colony in too heavy a loss ; they would not do anything to facilitate the immigration of freah Chinamen, bul< would relieve those in the colony of restrictions on their movements. The Property Tax Bill (Atkinson) and tho Leaseholders Qualifications Bill (Dick), were introduced and read a first time. The Federation and Annexation Bill, Fugitive Offenders Jurisdiction Bill, and Murikeku Natires Reserves Grant Bill were passed through committee, read a third time, and passed. The Bankruptcy Bill was further considered in committee. Mr Connolly intimated his intention to propose a recommittal to amend the clause carried by Mr Barron last night. He would agree that costs should be a firstsclaim, wages second, and piece work third. Several clauses were amended. Jjkx. whole evening was spent in commjEtee on the Bills of Exchange Bill.
