Later Particulars. Thames, Last Night.

The barque Loch Ken got aground last night on a mud bank about six miles off Grahamstown. She was bound from Aucklaud to London, but owing to her compasses being at fault, got out of her course. She fired several rockets, but they were mistaken for lightning-flashes, as a thunder-storm was raging at the time. This morning the Thames s.s. Rotomahansi leaving here at 7.30., enquired if assistance was required, and the Loch Ken signalled "Yps." The steamer proceeded to her and took on her chief officer to Auckland to obtain further assistance, and the same steamer on her return tonight will attempt to tow her off. The Loch Ken is owned by the New Zealand Shipping Company, and is built of iron. She is under the command of Capt. Wilson, formerly of the Loch Dee. She is lying in soft mud, and in no danger. Capt. Bayldon, harbour-master, has gone off to her, and will remain to render assistance. Her cargo is valued at £30, 150. She has a few passengers. In all probability she will be got off with the morning's tide. The captain mistook the land seen for the Great Barrier on the left, and Cape Col vi lie on the right, directing his men to look for Cuvier Island ahead.
