Civil Cases. Thursday.— (Before Mr Northcroft, R. M.) Hesketh and Aikin v. H. C. N. Tankkr, — Judgment summons. Mr Gresham for plaintiff. Defendant ordered to pay the debt, £3 14s Id, with costs, £1 Os 6d by 21st August, or in default one month's imprisonment. W. Qualtrough v. William Ogle. — Mr Gresham for plaintiff. Judgment for plaintiff for £4, the debt, and costs, £2 9s 6d, execution to stay until after next Court day. Same v. John Ash. — Mr Greshwn for plaintiff. Judgment for amount claimed, £12 3a Sd, and costs £3 ss. James Pox v. John Wickett Bridgman. — Mr Gresham for plaintiff, Mr O'Neill for defendant. Plaintiff was non-suited on the evidence, and ordered to pay defendants costs, £1 Ss 6d. H. C. N. Tanner v. Alfred and Lily Martin.— Mr Keesing for plaintiff. Mr Gresham, instructed by Messrs Cooper .and Connell, for defendants took a preliminary objection that the plaintiff having filed a declaration of insolvency in March, 1882, and not laving since obtained his discharge, the property of plaintiff' was vested in the Registrar. Mr Keesing argued that the bankruptcy proceedings had lapsed. His Worship decided to hear the evidence of plaintiff, and also the evidence taken in Auckland on behalf of defendants, after which judgment was reserved for consideration of fie point of law raised by Mr Gresham, tind also as to whether the plaintiff should not be non-suited on his own evidence.
