PUKEKURA ROAD BOARD.
Thk first meeting of the new board was held afc the PuTjerimu school-house on Wednesday, the 27th "1^ Mr John Fisher was unanimously elected chairman tor the ensuing year, and Mr Hugh Fitzgerald was re-appointed clerk and collector. It was agreed to take the necessary steps to close a road and open another in lieu thereof as per plans, &c, submitted, in the parish of Ngaroto, and that tj)e gamp be advertised in The TJ railcato Times as per clause in Public Works Act, 1882. Tlio offer of Mr E, Lake, in conjunction with Mr Samuel Fleming, to look after the works now in progress on the Cambridge and Ohaupo main road was cordially accepted. — Messrs Gane and Fleming were empowered to look after any repairs do 1 district roads on the west side, and Messrs J. Fisher and R. Reynqlds op thp past side qt "VYalker's Qully, and Mr "John Grice", fo.r $h> pukekura district roads, J>o b& einpQwerad to spend a sum not exceeding £10 per month on each division allotted for necessary repairs without the necessity of calling a meeting- — The Clerk drew attention to several omissions and errors in the valuation roll sent from /Wellington,^ and it was resolved 1 'that tlie,- , clerk get the same corrected w f&r;aa;gosai,ble, catered,
in the rate book, and initialled. It was rosolved that the board meet at Pakerimu school four weeks from date.
