The Thames Railway. - Auckland, Last Night. Messrs Hdnt and White are the successful tenderers for the Waihou railway contract.
Sale of Racing Stock. A sale of racing stock took place at Buokland's to-day. The following were sold: — Billingsgate, 120 guineas (purchased by R. Thorpe) ; Katipo, 110 guineas (A. Austin) ; Elcerene (a crosscountry horse), 27 guineas (Abbot) ; Lady, three , years old, , black filly by Malta, 110 guineas (Morrin) ;Xantippe," with foal at foot to Cap-a-pie,, and stinted

Mining. Sales to-day .-—Prince Imperials, sos ; Queeu of Beauty, 103 ; Leep Le\el, ss.
Cambridge School. At the Board of Education, to-day, an application from (Jrunbrulgc for a cottage grant was refused.
The Frozen Meat. The Ma taura sails for London direct tomorrow morning, with a large cargo including the first shipment of frozen mutton from Auckland. The Mataura has also on board twenty tierces beef especially prepared for the English Navy by Fisher iiiul Co., 51 brace of pheasants, and a small consignment of fish of various descriptions.
