" ' 'In connection with the accident on board the steamer llttfa, the passenger who reported the occurrence says he -,wm on the bridge when, it, toqk place. He was lying down sick and felt something knock against him. On opening f his eyes lie saw what seemed to be a bundle in the act,, of, falling over. Getting up on his leg's, and looking over the side, he saw that it was a man, and immediately gave the alarm. Capt. Berrinman says deceased was in excellent spirits, and perfectly sober, and he (the captain) had not seen him in better health. He canot account for the affair in any way. It is surmised that on knocking against the sick passenger lie must have tripped ami lost his balance, and fell over. No cry was heard. Deceased was about 40 years of age, and leaves a wife and three children.
