TA WHIAO' S MEETING AT WAOTU.

A large number of natives, principally Ngatiraukawas, have been gathering at Waotu for the past few days in order to be present at Tawluao's meeting there on Monday next, the day appointed by that personage for the gathering. The natives who were attending the Laud Court at Cambridge left there immediately after the adjournment of the Court on Thursday, and took a large quantity of hai and waipiro with them in order to give the king and his party a suitable reception, and one cousistent with the importance of the occasion. We do ' not anticipate that anything, very much in. the way of actual business will be' done,' for we think the proceedings will take $he f^orm more of. an intertribal reunion than of anything else, and the time of the meeting will be .taken up principally with greetings, ,' salutations, and ' feasting. When Tawhia'o was last heard of yesterday morning he had just arrived at a native settlement about two miles from Taupo, and was then on his way to Waotu. Should he not arrive at Waotu before Monday it is very doubtful whether the natives concerned ~in , the Land Court will await his arriyal^tliere, but return to "Cambridge to attend J to their business on Tuesday morning.
