RAGLAN. Visit of Mr Bryce.

Mil Bkycjb, the hon. Native Minis-, ter, accompanied by Messrs Hursthouse and Butler, has just been paying this district a visit. On the evening of the 14th inst., deputations from some of the local bodies waited upon the Native Minister in reference to some of the wants of the district. The necessity of a telegraph wire being erected from Hamilton to Raglan, was especially urged upon him. His answer may be considered very favourable. He promised that the expenditure of the £500 grant for the Waipa and Raglan road would soon be proceeded with. The natives made an application to have a Land Court held here, and he promised that if any business was forthcoming, the application would be granted. On the 15th lie visited Aotea, and arranged for the immediate expenditure of the £500 grant for the Raglan and Kaw hid roacl, and also decided that steps would be taken to have the road continued to Kawhia by way of Maari.— (Own Correspondent.)
