TUHIKARAMEA.
The annual meeting of householders for the election , of a school conynittcc was held'intlic school 1 at 7 o'clock p.m. oh Monday, January 22nd, Mr John Glasson in the chair, when .Messrs William Livingston, Walter Reid, 1 0. B. Vickers, John Glasson, McMiken, James Duoys, and James Wells were elected. At the committee meeting aftei wards held. Mr Wella was again appointed chairman. Mr Glasson, as one of the three trustees previously appointed in connection with the cemetery, desired the opinion of the meeting as to tho propriety of adding to the number of trustees. Some present thought it imneccbaiy to increase the number. Ultimately Mr Glasson moved that Messrs C. B. Vickers and James Wells be added to the number' of' trustees, which was seconded by Mr Livingston and carried. — Some little discussion took place as to the area to be fenced, and kind of fence to be erected, the general opinion being in favor ot enclosing about an acre or a little less, and putting up pm iii posts and baibcd wire a\ ith a ditch and bank, but it was left for the trustees to act as they thought best after viewing the giound. Mr Livingston took advantage of tins meeting to urge the piopriety of taking some active steps towaids establishing a chccfce factory in this district. He thought it would be the means of very materially mci easing the prosponty of tluvsidcnts, and that it was quite possible to start one, and Mr Lang, as chairman of the road boaid, was lequc&ted to call a meeting at the school to be held on Monday, Febiuary 19th, at 7 o'clock p.m. for the purpose of fully conbideiing the question. In the meantime it was decided to wnte to Canada asking for all available infoi mation as to best ela's ot buildings and plant, and piobablc cost of same. — (Own (Joi respondent.)
