Tlio coroner's jury ha\ c found that the Civbwick mining accident was due to an en or of judgment on the part of Mr Nicholas, the mine manager, in consequence of a mistake in the survey. A rider to the verdict recommends a compulsory mode of signalling ; also than an escape drive should be provided -with ladders.
Sydney, Yesterday. Arrived : Yesterday morning, Rotomahana, from Auckland. A bill providing for thn issue of inscribed stock has passed the Legislative Assembly. There was a very heavy rainfall here during the whole of yesterday. .
[Received January 20th, 12 50 p m ] Melbourne, Yesteiday. Mr Gibson, the Town Clerk of Dunedin, has ariivocl, and is onquiiing into the alleged frauds in connection with the Municipal bonds. So fai as is known there is no rea&on to believe that further frauclb have been committed beyond those already brought to light. Intelligence has been received that the Hangitotrong goldmine is flooded. The man who were at work at the tune of the influx .succeeded in escaping, and no loss of life occurred.
