THE UNSELFISH MAN.
TO THE KDITOR. Snt, — I observe by your issue of yesterday's date a notice from the philanthropist landlord of the Masonic Hotel, Alexandra, that he intends discontinuing his conveyance from Alexandra to Te Awamutu, much to the displeasure and incouvenience of the travelling public, who always sat contented and safe under the care of Jehu Hope. The 1 only reason given is that he put on his conveyance to cause a belter, accommodation to be placed at the disposal of the public. Having completed this, lie now retires, thinking that he has served the public, • and is deserving their thanks. This is only in keeping with the many thoughts of this gentleman coming forward to j supply a cheap and safe traffic, keeping the word of promise to our ears, and breaking it to our Hope. However, those orders are Jn line with t those in, command.—l am, &c, .' [ .it A Commercial Man.
