Attempted Murder. Auckland, Last Ni^ht. At the Police Court to-day George Olsen was committed for trial for a murderous assault on liis wife with an axe. The evidence disclosed no facts in addition to those already published. Mrs Olseu appeared in Court with her head bandaged, and appeared in a very weak state.
Horse Sale. The highest bid for the cross-country horse Angler, to-day, was £35; owner wanted £50.
Drowning Accident. Intelligence has been received from Te Koporu Unit |a settler jiamed x J,vf'l Thomelyj- aged' about years, Was drowned yesterday evening while watering a horse at ( th© Mongouui river, Northern Wairoa. " ' Mining News. Sale of Prince Imperial, 52s and 52s 6d.
