[Received January Bth, 3 p.m.] Meuiouknk, Yesterday. The Duuedin municipal frauds are attracting considerable attention here. Three well-known Melbourne brokers, Were Anderson, Wilde, and Griffiths, have been victimised to the extent of £35,000. It has been ascertained that Massie's wife sold Griffiths 000 waterworks debentures in the name of Louisa Allen. The coupons were subsequently paid in London. Later Messrs Were Anderson sold fifteen debentures, paying cash to the amount of £1594, which the wife accepted in the name of Lucy Brown. Massie then obtained a draft on New Zealand for £600. Wilde also purchased 130 debentures, paying ±"1360 cash, and Massie got a draft tor £1140 on Christchurch.
