The correct programme to be observed in connection with freeing the Hamilton Bridge to-day is as follows : — The Mayor and councillors will meet the lion.^ the Premier nt the railway station, and drive him to the bridge, where the school children, the Hamilton Band, and the general public will be gathered: The resolution of the council, declaring the bridge free of tolls,' will be read by the Town Clerk, and the Piomier will then formally declare the structure free for traffic. Vocal and instrumental music will then, be contributed by the school children and band, and the former will becpnducted to Le Quesne's Hall, where refresh- I uieiit-3 will be provided. At 4 o'clock, the lion, the Premier will be entertained at luncheon by His Worship the Mayor at Milne's Commercial Hotel, about 40 other guests being also invited. The toasts customary on such occasions will be proposed. At eight o'clock the citizens ball in the Volunteer and Public Hall will be opened by the Premier and Mrs F. A. Whitaker. -In consequence of the indisposition of Mrs. Kuox, Cr. Peat, the senior member of the council, will represent the Mayor at the ball, and do the honours of the occasion. All the preparations are in a, forward state, and we anticipate a very successful celebration. The tradesmen have agreed to close at mid-day, so that a general holiday will be observed. The school-children are requested to meet at LeQuesne's Hall at noon, and the Band at the Volunteer Hall at 1.30.
