TE RAHU SCHOOL. Farewell Address and Presentation.
A number of the parents of children attending the above school attended at the school- house on Friday last, on the occasion of breaking up for the holidays, tq wifnosis the distribution of prizes among i\)G qliiltlrcn, and th.c presentation of a,tt address and keepsake by the girls tp tljoir sewing teacher, Mrs Wqqdham, pii her leaving tlw scliool. The children were briefly addressed by the chairman qf «)in mittee, Mr Johns, who bade them rsmittiilicr that %\\e prisspn iso be given them that day were typical 01 afar higher prize that awaited every persevering and well-conducted boy and girl, namely : the respect and admiration of their fellows. It was the children of to-day who became the men and women of the near future, and he hoped that every boy and girl woiild so strive to acquire knowledge in their youth, that they might be worthily fitted to take their places upon"tl^ yfflMfe j^eat Stage. The various prizes were then distributed qy Mr Woodham, who accompanied each trift with a fitting word to- the youthful recipient. Mr Potts, in a few words of exhortation and advice, urged upon the children the necessity of continual obedience and attention' to their teachers. The.
