Tjib I'ouawa and Whatapoko lands ottered by the East Coast L.uul Company yesterday, "w ere regibtered in the Napiei Land Registry OiKee before the bale. As heavy e'nounibrance.s had to be paid oil, the registration was unnecessarily deferred until the eve ot the sale, which gave rise to doubts upon the title, but such doubts had, however, no foundation. Whatupoko land &old freely, at from .£l2 10s t0.£21, p&r acre. Pona.\ya. land , -was chiefly withdrawn 'at the upset price of £2. About 100 acicrf, however, were sold, and fiec inquiry was nwle to-daj for larger s,eotions.
