JUDGE FENTON AND THE NATIVES. The Offer Accepted. Alexandra, Last Night.
Anothkk meeting was held at Whatiwhatihoe List night by Te "Wheoro, M.H.R., and the king natives, to consider what answer should be returned to Mr Ftjiiton's offer of land. Wljitiora desired that no l'eply be given until the return of Tawhiao from Kawlria. Te Wheoro said unless they made up their minds at once he would leave them entirely to their own resources, as the king had given him all power to act on his behalf, It theiefore was agreed that a number should be chosen, some 23, to go down and choose, respectively, locations for different hapus on their old settlements as far as possible. They go uext steamer, accompanied by Mr Fenton and Mr F. Edgecumbe, Staff Surveyor.
