NE W BAPT IST T ABER NACL E. CAMBRIDGE.

Many of our readers will be glad to learn that the erection of the above building, though only taken in hand a few weeks ago, is now about to be carried into effect. At a meeting of the Church Building Committee, held on Wednesday last, tenders were received for the work and considered. The following are the tenders :— Carter and Hogan, £470 : 0. Wakelin and Co., £553 ; C. E. E. Smith, £627 17s (sd ; McFarlane and and Miller, £629 18s ; Geo. Smerdon, £660. For the seats of the new building the following tenders were received :— McFarlane and Miller, £59 and £61 ; 0. Wakelin and Co., £60; C. E. E. Smith, £70 and £7o lus. The two tenders are for different qualities of seats. Only one tender was received for the wire fencing, that of 0. Wakelin and Co. for £2 per chain. After the tenders had been fully considered that of Carter and Hogan *for the building was accepted, the other matters being left over for the present. The building, according to the contract agieement, is to be completed on the first of April. Now that tenders have been accepted for the work, and the erection of the building will be commenced in a few days, the Building Committee are very desirous that all w ho have promised subscriptions to the work should assist them as far as in their pov er to be able to meet the liability when the church is completed. They aie desirous of worshipping in a building the full propeity of the con gi elation, and upon which no person may ha\ c a lien for debt.
