THE C AM BRI DGE JOCKEY CLUB.
Tiromai the matter of the Cambridge racecourse has been satibfaotoi ily arranged, it has not as yet been definitely settled. The Jockey Club have ottered the promoters £200 for the grand stand with a life membership of the club for each. There are in all 1*24 acres, included in the course grounds, for which £13 an acre has beeu asked, and this the club, contingent on all other matters being satisfactorily arranged, has agreed to give. This would mean a sum of £1012 to be raised by loan, which together with £200 for the stand, and £100 tor repairs and improvements, which the club contemplate making, would mean £1912. The ground can be leased for grazing purposes at the rate of ■£ I per acre per annum, and we believe an offer of this kind lias already been made. Eight members of the club have agreed to put in £100 each at six per cent.
