YEhMttDAY.— -(Before Colonel Lyon, J.P.) A Youthful Tiitler. — A young man named John Lean was charged by Constable Brennan with a breach of the UHid tectiou of the Licensing Act. — The constable stated that the accused h.id been before the Court once before. On Saturday night he was found in such a helpless state of intoxication in Dukestreet that he had to be carried to the lock-up.— Accused, in extenuation, said he had just come down from the country with a "bit of a chc<juo," and, falling in with a few friends, got more liquor than he intended.— Fined £1, with costs, or, hi default, 48 hours' imprisonment with hard labour. Yokkey inThoubw;.— An old identity familiarly known as " Yorkey," was charged with being drunk and disorderly on Saturday evening, and also with usiny insulting and ioul language to Mr A. Isaacs. Constable Brennan said the present was accused's third conviction. Accused in extenuation pleaded having stumbled across an old soldier whom he had not &een for many years, and by way of celebrating the occasion got slightly elcsatcd. It let off he meant to go straight away up to the clergyman and take the pledge. Sentenced to seven days with haul labour.
