San Fbancisco, October 22. The Australian cricketers were handsomely entertained during their short stay in this city, and report says that the cricketers carry back over £11,000, the result of their tour. Henry Ward Beechcr has announced, his withdrawal from the Congregational Union. He denies the doctrine of the fall ot Adam, also, eternal punishment, though he believes in future punishment ot a mental kind, and asserts his unreserved belief in the Trinity and Divinity of Christ. Jay Gould, the richest stockbroker in America, is building a large steam yacht for a tour round the world. Conclusive evidence has been produced of the embezzlement of the Fenian funds bv O'Donovan Rossa, and other New York Irish agitators. Colonel iStayback, a prominent lawyer and politician, was shot dead by the editor of the St. LottU Post. Hanlan, Courtney and Kennedy, have resolved to postpone the race until June, ISS.3. The Australian cricketers defeated a picked eleven from Philadelphia, by nine wickets. During an earthquake on the Isthmus of Pauama on Sept. 7th., four tidal waves occurred, overwhelming" several little villages, and drowning 70 persous.
