[Received November Bth, 1 40 p.m.] Melbourne, Yesterday. Private telegrams have been received here announcing considerable advance in kerosene in America. It lias been ascertained that the value of the contents of the registered mail bag stolen on Monday night from the postoliice was £100. The police are still without a clue to the perpetrators of the robbery. Advertisements appear in the Melbourne papers to-day, calling for tenders for a direct steam service between New Zealand and England. In the Legislative Assembly last night, the Loan Conversion Bill was again under consideration. Much opposition was shown to the measure, but it was finally read a, third time on a division.
