About 3000 attended the races on Tuesday, and the weather was everything that could be desired. The favorite won in nearly every instance. (Butler) ] Messrs Vallauce's eh c Bundoorn, 4yrs., 7st4lbs (Williams) 2 Hon. W. Robinson's br c Vanguard, 3yrs., 7st (.Smith) . . .. .. 3 When at last the signal was effected, Welcome Jack had a lot the best of it, with Torquoise and Lady Kiiiinn second, and King Quail last. Over the straight Welcome Jack .still led, Lady Emma being second, Torquoise third, Vanguard, fourth, Emir Bey, King Quail, and "Bundooia in a knot behind. On passing the stand Jack still led. The Poet, Turquoibc, and Lady Emma, were running together in the second place. The Poet now began to improve his position, and at Cutts' was alongside the favourite, and the rest were together with the exception of Emir Bey, who began to fall behind. Opposite Ford's Vanguard assumed the lead, with Welcome Jack second, ami the rest in a" cluster. Vanguard had still the lead of Welcome Jack as they passed the six-furlong pobt, where Turquoise and Bundoota showed a bold front, Salvage having gradually fallen back and now being last but one, and Emir Bey last. On rounding the bend Vanguard was overhauled by Jack, and Bumloora drawing away from Turquoise assumed the thiid place, his stable-companion being fouith ; Lady Emma and the Poet the most prominent of the others. Jack continued his lead down the straight, and although Bundoora came very fast at the finish, he won by a length, Vanguard, two lengths off, being third. Time, 3min. 3isecs. Thk Welcome Sr<vi:ss Sw em'stakes, of l.isovs., with lOOsovs. added. Ouida 1 Water Nymph 2 Helena ... 3 Ouida jumped away with the lead, winning easily, Walter Nymph beating Helena by a length. Time, 48secs. Riccaktox Welteb Handicap, of 100 soys, Whiteback 1 Rebecca 2 So 3 Whiteback led all the way, and won easily.
