FORMATION OF A CHEESE AND BACON FACTORY AT TAVPIRL
The adjourned meeting re the above, was held at the Taupiri Hotel on Saturday last, Mr Lovell in the chair. There was a large attendance, all the principal settlers being present. Mr James Runciman was also present for a short time, and kindly gave all the information in his power, both as to the working of the American factories and the cost of plant. &c. From 250 to 300 gallons of milk per day were guaranteed by immediate settlbi'S, but as it was so late in the season, it was Hnnllv resolvecl that the project should be held oyav for the space of three months, in order to see how the factories already started in the Waikato worked, a»d thus gain further \, expert, enge, The meeting closed' by aV&te of ' thanks being accorded to Ml* Runciman for the troubl^ Uc'Mij' taken in, the matter.— (Correspondent,) ' ' \- .
